2. Purpose of Data Processing
Your personal data is collected, stored, and processed for the following purposes:
- to fulfil the therapeutic agreement between you and me,
- to maintain appropriate documentation of the therapeutic process,
- to comply with my legal obligations as a Licensed Practitioner for Psychotherapy (e.g. documentation, record retention, and invoicing).
This includes the processing of personal and health-related information, such as medical history, therapy records, clinical observations, and handwritten notes collected during our sessions or voluntarily provided by you.
Providing this information is necessary to ensure safe, responsible, and professional therapeutic care.
3. Recipients of Your Data
Your personal data will generally not be shared with third parties.
Your data will only be disclosed if:
- you have given your explicit consent, or
- I am legally required to do so (for example, by law or by a court or governmental authority).
In individual cases, and only with your prior consent, information may be shared with other healthcare professionals involved in your care (such as physicians or psychotherapists).
4. Storage and Retention of Your Data
Your personal data will be stored only for as long as necessary for the provision of therapy.
Under German law (§ 630f German Civil Code (BGB) in conjunction with § 24 para. 1 of the Heilpraktiker Implementation Regulation), therapy records must be retained for at least 10 years after the end of treatment.
Records are stored exclusively in paper form and are protected against unauthorized access through appropriate security measures.
5. Communication by Email and Document Transmission
Email communication is not encrypted.
Please use email primarily for administrative matters, such as scheduling appointments.
By communicating with me via email, you acknowledge and agree that personal data exchanged through email may be transmitted without encryption.
This also applies to the sending and receiving of documents, such as the treatment agreement, intake forms, or appointment information.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- request access to the personal data I hold about you,
- request the correction of inaccurate personal data,
- request the deletion or restriction of processing under certain legal conditions,
- object to the processing of your personal data.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority if you believe that your personal data is being processed unlawfully.

7. Legal Basis for Data Processing
Your personal data is processed in particular on the basis of the following legal provisions:
- Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – Performance of a contract,
- Article 9(2)(h) GDPR in conjunction with Section 22(1) No. 1(b) German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) – Processing of health data for the provision of healthcare,
- Section 630f German Civil Code (BGB) – Documentation obligations.
